Cubase is the software with more than 25 years’ experience in the development of Steinberg's one of the best digital workstations. Designed for professionals, Cubase combines the best audio quality, intuitive handling and a huge set of tools for audio and MIDI tools for recording, editing, mixing and composing.
After running Cubase you can easily see tremendous clarity to the work place. Modest, not overwhelming layout and subdued colours have a positive effect on the appearance of the program. But this is not about its functionality. All our tools are useful. They were placed in the right place. In the vain search for so-called. fountains. This professional tool for working with MIDI. The material we are working, you can watch in one of several editing modes are available:

·         Edit - the equivalent view of the Cakewalk Piano Roll;
·         List - a listing of all the communications path;
·         Drum - modified for batch processing of percussion, a variety EDIT mode;
·         Score - the score. # # # # #

Each mode has its own rules. Others are tools and methods. Everything depends on the activity.
STRUCTURE The menu options are used during operations on the paths. They allow you to split, merge, mixing and remixing tracks, combine them into groups. Mixing will be useful when the synthesizer, which will play our song, has a limited number of tracks.

Another group, the group assigned FUNCTIONS, includes functions for manipulating sounds. So there are different algorithms quantization noise and the length correction of transposition. The program can also align sound material in several ways. Sometimes it happens that the excessive use of quantization causes a loss of character composition. The option of Iterative Quantize sounds move you toward the correct position. This algorithm can be invoked multiple times each time increasing the accuracy of the material.

Cubase Transparency should be considered exemplary. Each track can contain multiple blocks containing fragments of the song. Manipulating them appropriately, we can make a song with verses and choruses. Individual tracks can mix with each other.

In EDIT mode noise can be seen in the form of variable length blocks. Below you can see a graphical representation of the value of parameter VELOCITY (NOTEV.) of each sound. The higher the bar, the value is greater. In this way, it is possible and watch, and edit the course of most MIDI controllers. Before the final record of the composition in MID format, we set the necessary controllers and communications. In LIST mode is clearly visible the entire contents of the path.
Cubase can work with the material stored on the staff. As presented work can be freely edited and printed effect.

Under the name of GM / GS / XG Editor module hides the virtual console. All parameters are modified in real time, while playing a song. This allows you to easily set the proper tone of composition.

Types of brief
Contractual - Involves a signed agreement with stated objectives. If you or the other party were to break any agreements you would be in breech of contract and could face legal action

Negotiated - Two parties have differing ideas and a compromise has to be found that makes both sides happy, sometimes involving a third party (An arbitrator)

Informal - More of a verbal agreement between parties with nothing official or in writing, less formal so to speak

Tender - The production company might find out someone is looking for a video. They put together a brief with a proposal and a budget and send it to the potential client. The client would look at all the different tenders they receive and choose the one they prefer.

Co-operative brief - You work alongside other production companies or organisations who also have a brief therefore your brief has to co-operate with the brief they are working on as well

My Brief:
The type of brief I choose to do is co-operative brief because I decided to developed the music to the advert of famous cereals on a food market, Weetabix company.

I picked this video as I found it challenging to work with. There are a lot of movements and actions that are needed to be highlighted by sound effects and music. This video also gave me an amazing opportunity to fulfil this unit requirements as I can apply three components of interactive sound which are narration, sound effects and sound track.

The role of narration within this video is persuading the viewers by convincing them that the product is the most suitable and the most reliable on the market. Sound effects will emphasize the activities during the video and will also make the advert more realistic like in everyday life. However there is no advert without keeping audience entertain, therefore the functions of sound track are to hold the tension during viewing the advert as well as amuse audience while watching giving them positive feeling about the product.

To get the better result than the editors hired previously by Weetabix company I have to plan everything ahead. So I have to consider the legal issues of music I am using and content of narration I will put into the video.

Firstly I will produce the sound track. To avoid unnecessary problems with legal issues like using somebody else’s music or beat I will create my song from the scratch using loops and key editors and many more.

Once my track would be created I will focus on sound effects. I will record them by myself or I will try to download the free of charge not copyrighted sound samples (effects) from internet. Unfortunately is quite hard to get the good sound effect having only home resources therefore to reflect the sound matching the action in video to it closes form I might use some of my finding online.

Finally to put my proposition together I will produce the narration to go on top of the sounds I have already mentioned earlier. To create narration I will simply record my voice to sound boots and then transfer it to the software in this case Cubase in which I will construct my sound track and sound effects. Before recording my narration I will plan it ahead and write the script that will match the video and timing for the sounds to satisfy my target audience and client.
My primary target audiences would be kids between 5-

Hopefully everything will go quite smoothly and I will reach my target.

Legal Issues

What is Copyright?
Copyright protects original literary, dramatic, musical and artistic works. It allows an original work to be considered a property that is owned by somebody. The framework for Copyright Law is the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988 ('the Act').

When does Copyright begin?
In music, copyright begins automatically once a piece of music is created, and documented or recorded (eg. on video, tape or CD or simply writing down the notation of a score).

Does MCPS/PRS for Music copyright music on my behalf?
Registering your music with MCPS or PRS for Music does not create copyright. If you follow the suggestions outlined below you have a better chance of proving you own the copyright if any of your music is disputed.

How do you protect your music as a songwriter?
Currently, no official form of registration is available. In the UK, all original music is protected by copyright from the time it is recorded/written down in some format. It is important to be able to prove that you own the copyright of a particular recording. To do this we suggest the following:

•Send a copy of the recording to yourself by 'Special Delivery'. Clearly mark the envelope so you know what music it holds but keep it sealed.
and/or
•Store a copy with your solicitor or bank manager. Remember to keep a receipt and be aware that this method is likely to cost you some money.
 What are your rights as a Copyright owner?

If you own the copyright you possess the sole authority to:

•copy the music
•issue, lend or rent copies to the public
•perform, show or play the music in public
•communicate the music to the public (i.e. broadcasting it via TV, radio, Internet etc.)
 What happens to your rights when you become a PRS member?
When joining PRS for Music your rights are transferred to us. These are:
•to perform the music in the public (concerts, pubs, shops etc)
•to communicate the music to the public (including broadcasting, broadcasting on demand and use of music on the Internet interactive services, including satellite and cable transmissions)

What happens to your rights when you become an MCPS member?
MCPS acts as an agent on your behalf, to administer the following rights:
•to copy the music (pressing CDs, downloads)
•to issue copies of the work to the public (sale of CDs, tapes or vinyl in shops)
•to rent or lend the work to the public (renting videos, tapes, CDs, library lending)

How long does Copyright last?
In the UK, copyright generally lasts for a period of 70 years from the end of the calendar year in which the author dies. If the music originates from outside the European Economic Area (EEA), the copyright lasts for as long as the music is protected by copyright in its country of origin, provided that the length of time does not exceed 70 years.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Every recorded track has two rights:
1. A copyright in the musical and lyrical composition (administered by PRS for Music for public performance, broadcasting and online and MCPS for physical products, broadcasting and online).
2. A separate copyright in the actual sound recording (administered by MCPS if you are using production music, the sound recording owner if you using commercial music on a physical product (typically the record company which released it originally) and PPL for public performance and airplay.)

What if you are using the original recording?
MCPS and/or PRS for Music should be able to issue you a licence for your desired music use but if you are using original recordings you also need to get approval for the use of these.
If you are playing sound recordings in public or are broadcasting music via radio, TV or the Internet you will need to get a licence from PPL.
If you are using original recordings on a physical product you will need to obtain permission from the original sound recording owner. This can be identified by looking at the P & C notices on the back of the original CD or see 'Useful Contacts' below. Failure to secure approval for the use of sound recordings will invalidate any MCPS licence obtained.

What if you are using your own recording?
If you have made your own recording of an existing musical composition, better known as a 'cover version', you are the sound recording owner and will only need to obtain an MCPS licence for any physical products you produce.
However, if in creating your cover version you have in any way rearranged or adapted the original musical composition you will need to seek permission from the music publisher or, if unpublished, the writer/composer involved.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Despite what you might think, it is likely that you ARE using commercial music. Commercial music can be defined as any music produced that is being marketed directly to the general public by any medium.

The only exception to the above is production music. This is music specifically written for inclusion in audio and audio-visual productions and is marketed on a business to business basis. Production music can only be obtained from a production music library.

Production Music (also known as library music) is high quality and cost-effective music specifically written for synchronisation or dubbing into audio and audio-visual productions; from TV or radio adverts to feature films, websites and even viral marketing campaigns.

MCPS (part of the PRS for Music group) represents 500,000+ tracks and sound effects from over 160 libraries spanning all genres of music.

Versatile and affordable MCPS production music represents quality. Our Production Music is written by professional songwriters and composers – including some of the big names.

Clearing the music rights you need is a straightforward online process. There are no copyright owner permissions to obtain.

Quick, affordable access to the music you need, when you need it.
•Over 500,000 top-quality tracks and sound effects
•Pre-cleared for any type of usage
•Worldwide rights in perpetuity
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Any location or premises, outside of home, where music is played from clubs to concert halls, from discos to dentists’ waiting rooms and from trains to takeaways. The owner/proprietor of the premises is normally responsible for obtaining a Music Licence for the public performance of copyright music.

Interactive Media Products - Research

The interactive media are simply saying; use of different forms of communication. Such forms can be the text, sound, image, animation or video. Multimedia presentations are used to provide information or providing entertainment for those who have become their potential customers. They can be streamed live or played back in the appropriate place.
Multimedia is used in many areas of life, now first contact with them has children already in the school, while learning and playing. Furthermore, we find them in advertising, business, arts, medicine and research discipline because interactive media is not only enables rapid transmission of information more easily digestible, but most of all it allows us to explore new possibilities. Multimedia can easily play the role of information and entertainment, most are one and the second, and maybe this is why you it gained so much popularity. However interactive media can be useful as well as distracting and bad in use.

Interactive Media Products
In Education;
In the era of computers, television and the Internet in school-age children are very demanding as to the form to be informed. Colourful cartoons, violent games, anonymous calls in the network meant that real life has gone into the shadows. Media seem to be only a rope connecting the knowledge entered in the school curriculum with an attractive interactive world. Multimedia presentations are not only enriching the lesson and interested students, but also make the children remember a lot more messages than the usual textbook reading. It is worth noting that in the transfer of content to help multiple measures proposed by the modern media. They can be combined in an interesting way, making 45 minutes in a bench will be very pleasant for the children sometimes, by identifying not so far from boredom and responsibility. Multimedia arrays are also much more convenient compared to traditional green plate and chalk. It all makes teaching aids in the form of multimedia in education are necessary.
In Art;
With the achievement of the twentieth century, such as multimedia art took on an entirely new word. Opened its doors for a new era, in which he lives quite a new society with different goals so far and customs. Art has long been, but still interesting and admired, does not meet its role today. It is out dated, dusty, not hitting the needs of contemporary man. Each drawer is closed it with the word antiquity and admired only as a fall from his ancestors. Modern art is a different sphere. With multimedia comes to us from almost every page, cannot remain unnoticed. Light, sound, picture in various forms, interlocking shapes strike a man, and tend to think. Multimedia endow a huge dose of experience and communicate it in great quality. Artists using forms of media have an easier chance to show their art and get to its destination. Some believe that the media are killing real talent and artistry of ancient art, but today, when the world turned in many respects they are Ø180 degrees needed and should appreciate their contribution to the culture.
Video Games
Entertainment is very important in our lives. Still looking for new experiences and ways to have fun. More and more often provides us with entertainment, the Internet, especially online games. Media give us on this issue a lot of fun. On-line games are a very attractive offer for Internet users because they give the opportunity to play with friends without having to stay in in one room. This is a very convenient solution. However, this does not end multimedia offer. A novelty on the market are games that involve the whole body of the player to play. It is not enough just keyboard, or joystick, the participant must move as it wants to move as a ‘hero’ in his game. This has many advantages, the main one is the fact that the player is in motion. It has a salutary effect on the human figure. Especially important is it for children, among whom obesity is rampant and the total lack of interest in sport. Can thus change the view about the negative influence of computer games on the habits of man. Certainly through multimedia is a chance.
DVD’s
The name of the DVD was created as an unofficial name acronym of Digital Video Disc. Later this was given to develop a shortcut as Digital Versatile Disc - general purpose as digital disk. None of these names has ever had official status. The name is the only official DVD. DVD’s are interactive as they are able to play the sound of the original film, the narration and the subtitles on the screen. You also have got options to choose the language for some of the films as well as the scenes from which the audience can start watching the particular bit of the film; this is done by the interactive menu that DVD’s have at the very beginning, while putting it into the reader.
Websites
Interactive websites are the future of the Internet. Used by us in many embodiments of Flash technology provides a new level of interactivity executed websites. With this technology, you can see on their sites animated sequences, video clips, play all kinds of multimedia files and even create games available over the Internet. Music and sophisticated animation effects making the page extremely interesting to read and look at. The combination of music and animation provides a much stronger impact on a visitor of a website. Moreover various applications or even surveys can make a relationship with the audience and give them much better browsing experience.
Telephones
Currently, the absolute majority of mobile phones work in digital systems. The modern mobile phone, in addition to implementing the basic functions of a conversation, is usually equipped with many additional options. They are much more interactive than back in the days by using the network properties SMS, or their development, such as EMS, MMS, digital data transmission. They rely on additional software such as an alarm clock, notepad, organizer, calculator and other mobile applications. Mobile phones have additional built-in devices such as voice recorder, radio, MP3 player, GPS, camera or camera; cameras operating in 3G technologies offer the possibility of video conferencing, connecting to the Internet as well as having their own games. There are numerous options to choose from, the good example of sound interaction in mobile phones can be that while writing the message there is a beep sound which sometimes can be useful and sometimes be annoying. The user can make its own decision wherever he or she would like to have this sound going or can turn it off and put the sound for silence mode.
